Internet Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

Progressive side bets: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker commonly offer one of these. You normally lay a bet ($1 is the usual amt.) to try to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Though big jackpots like these are very appealing, they are also incredibly hard to succeed. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this bet. Also, imagine this- you play 20 hands and put the side wager each time. That’s twenty dollars you should have used towards the real game bet instead of a sucker bet. Just think about what you might have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds using that $20.
Single number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has just 1. This shifts the overall house advantage from two% with a single zero wheel to a huge 5.26% in American. The individual number bet has only a 1 in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much smaller casino advantage.
Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you gamble on it, the house edge can be a whopping twenty-five percent. No, that was not a error. Due to the large set of numbers you have to choose, it is not recommended to bet on Keno very much. A couple of times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not spend all your cash on it or you will quickly discover yourself broke.
